Allison Koh is a Research Fellow in Natural Language Processing at the University of Birmingham’s Centre for Artificial Intelligence in Government. Her research seeks to understand the geopolitics of social media and advance applications of generative AI for monitoring human rights practices and conflict processes. Her most recent work advances our understanding of how politics are rendered more broadly visible to digital publics on video-first platforms, the role of content moderation regimes in global politics, and the contemporary dynamics of digital authoritarianism. Koh holds a PhD in Political Science and an MPP in Policy Analysis from the Hertie School in Berlin, and completed her BSc in Economics and Asian Studies at Tulane Universit1y.
